Pet ID Tags 101
The purpose of a Pet ID Tag:
The reason we put ID Tags on our pets is so that if they ever go missing the person who finds them will be able to contact us and we will end up with a HAPPY OUTCOME as opposed to a BROKEN HEART. Seems obvious, doesn’t it? And yet from the questions I get, it is clear that many people do not have this obvious and very important function of their pet’s id tag foremost in mind. Your pet’s id tag is not “bling.” Think of your pet’s id tag is an inexpensive pet-loss / heartache prevention insurance policy—and like all insurance policies we hope we never need it—but we are SO GLAD we purchased it if we ever do need it. It is important that you buy a good policy!
Pet ID Tags that don’t hold up over time are not worth buying. All traditional hanging tags are subject to friction, and thus like all things subject to friction, doomed to fail in time. CollarTags™ are not subject to friction and thus never wear out or fall off your pet’s collar (read our Guarantees). If you use traditional hanging tags and the ring or hook has worn out, the hole in the tag has worn through, or your contact information has been erased due to the tag rubbing against other tags or collar hardware, your pet’s finder will not be able to contact you. The tag will not only have cost you your purchase price, it may also end up costing you your pet.
CollarTags™ may require you to “think outside the box” but I sincerely believe they should make all traditional hanging tags obsolete.
Bottom Line: There is no Pet ID Method that will better serve to ensure that the finder of your beloved lost will be able to contact you than having a CollarTag™ on its collar will—a CollarTag™ will always be there with contact information its finder can read.
